US Rules Out Troops, Backs Israel’s Veto: Netanyahu Shapes Gaza Force

by admin477351

The Trump administration has firmly ruled out sending US soldiers to Gaza, but it is giving its full backing to Israel’s plan to shape the international force that will be deployed. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, visiting Israel, endorsed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s demand for a veto.
Netanyahu declared Sunday that “Israel will determine which forces are unacceptable to us.” Rubio affirmed this, stating the force must be composed of “countries that Israel’s comfortable with.”
Rubio also made it clear that Hamas, which remains armed, will be excluded from Gaza’s future governance.
This US-Israel alignment allows Netanyahu to block countries like Turkey, which he has already signaled he will do.
This all unfolds as the truce is tested. An Israeli strike on Nuseirat was called a “violation” by Hamas, and the slow return of hostage remains has prompted a warning from Donald Trump.
