How do you commit an “impossible” crime? The first teaser for Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery invites audiences to dissect the anatomy of such an act, as Benoit Blanc investigates a murder that seems to defy all rational explanation.
The crime is the murder of a priest (Josh Brolin) in the middle of Mass, a public act with no obvious culprit. This central puzzle is the backbone of the story, and the teaser suggests a film that will meticulously break down the how, why, and who of this seemingly perfect crime.
Leading the dissection is Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc, who must analyze every clue and every suspect, including those played by Glenn Close, Kerry Washington, and Mila Kunis. His new, more academic look, with a sharp suit and longer hair, fits his role as a master of criminal anatomy.
The film was first unveiled at the Toronto International Film Festival. The public will get their chance to solve the impossible when Wake Up Dead Man opens in select cinemas on November 26th, followed by its global streaming debut on Netflix on December 12th.
