The Netherlands has issued yellow weather warnings for several regions as Storm Austen approaches, bringing significant wind gusts. The warnings are in place for Limburg, Zeeland, and South Holland, where winds are expected to reach at least 75 kilometers per hour.

The storm is anticipated to first impact the southwestern areas and the hills of Limburg on Friday evening, with strong gusts then spreading throughout the country overnight. Coastal areas may experience particularly severe winds.

Saturday’s weather is expected to be slightly calmer, with fewer showers and periods of sunshine. However, the reprieve will be short-lived, as heavy rain and stronger gusts are predicted to return by Saturday evening.

As the weekend progresses, strong winds will persist, especially in the northern parts of the Netherlands on Sunday, accompanied by showers. In contrast, southern regions might see more sunshine during the day.

Throughout the weekend, temperatures are forecasted to remain cool, not exceeding 13°C. Residents are advised to stay informed about weather updates as conditions evolve.
